Generation "C"

Generation "C" is the official support group recognized by Central High School. Gifts to this Annual Giving Campaign allow the Foundation to provide for the emerging needs and challenges of Central High School. These unrestricted funds give the Foundation the flexibility to meet the greatest needs of Central, while allowing you to support your favorite school!

A membership to Generation "C" is one way to maintain a lifelong connection to your Alma Mater and help to strengthen Central High School.

While membership provides essential support for the Foundation, it also gives alumni various ways to stay connected. Members also receive exclusive benefits – from reserved parking at athletic contests, to front row seating at the Road Show, to special incentives.

For your convenience, we have established two ways for you to join!

Generation "C" Chairs

Central-Photo-gen-c-chairs

This year's Generation "C" Chairs are truly a family of Eagles. Michael Lebens '70, Susan Strauss Lebens '70, Colin Lebens '00, and Emily Lebens Young '03 embody the spirit of commitment, caring, and generosity in their continuing dedication to helping improve the greater Omaha community and the lives of those who call it home. Even with their busy lives, they all boast impressive lists of community service and remain passionate about giving back to their alma mater: Central High School.

Susan, holder of a BS in Business Administration and a Juris Doctorate, spent 30 years in the law division of Mutual of Omaha before retiring as the Senior Vice President and Associate General Counsel. She has served on the boards of directors of the YWCA, Omaha Community Foundation, Children's Respite Care Center, the Omaha Children's Museum and the Central High School Foundation.

Michael has more than 30 years of management experience in the energy industry. This experience includes the development, design and construction of major power generation facilities and other energy-related projects.

In addition to a busy life as President and CEO of Tenaska's Engineering and Operations Group, a member of its Board of Stakeholder, and a member of Tenaska's Executive Committee, Michael C. Lebens makes time to stay committed in giving back to his community. He now serves on the boards of directors of the Children's Respite Care Center and Bellevue University. Previously, he served as the co-chair of the Business Division of the United Way Campaign and sat on the boards of directors of the Nebraska Chapter of the American Diabetes Association and of CHAD.

Susan and Michael are the proud parents of son Colin and daughter Emily. Colin received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Iowa State in 2005 and a Juris Doctorate from Lewis and Clark Law School in 2008. He is a member of the US Patent Bar, the California Bar Association, and the Oregon Bar Association; he is currently working as a patent attorney in Portland, Oregon.

Emily Lebens Young is married to Cameron Young. She received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics degree from Trinity University in 2007 and a Masters of Teaching degree from Trinity University in 2008. Emily taught math at Omaha Northwest High School for three years and is currently enrolled in the Mathematics PHD program at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. The Lebens family remains active in the community, helping to keep Omaha the best city to live, to raise children, and to enjoy.
